The
flowers and inflorescences of Pedicularis canadensis are adapted to
pollination by bumblebees, visited by both queens and workers, and providing
both nectar and pollen as rewards. Bumblebees forage upwards, 1st visiting
pollen accepting flowers, and then visiting pollen dispersing flowers with
smaller nectar rewards that encourage the visitor to depart for another patch of
flowers.
