Nearly mature silk worms, caterpillars, are a pale slightly greenish color.  Here a couple of hundred are feeding on mulberry leaves in a bamboo rearing tray.  Caterpillars are voracious, basically eating machines and they gain weight and grow quickly.

When not being fed, the tray is kept under a fabric cover on the rack to the rear.
